i used one of those pens with two sides, and added water.

all in progress
hi, i have been working on an illustration for steve thomas sports art incorporated. below you can see the progress and revisions. it is about 98% done i hope. an unfortunate part about commisioned work is that you are not the one deciding what to draw. the fortunate part is the moneys!
(the sudden change from tiger to elephant was because alabama won, instead of lsu. )
ok, back to the drawing and stuff
mit museum
the MIT museum in boston is awesome! all kinds of neat robots and stuff, including a lot of sculptures by arthur ganson, creator of "Toobers and Zots!" at one part of the museum, there was a wall with pictures posted in answer to the question: "hey kids, what kind of robot would you like to see MIT build next?"
These are a few of my favorite responses:

sid gets off the boat
hi friends,
first off, here are some great forest backgrounds from disney's paul bunyan short. i wish i had known about these sooner.
and secondly, here is an animation and compositing test from the boat scene.
i think that hilda looks too young, so i will change her outfit to a sporty jumpsuit/windbreaker i remember that grandma had. i also remember hilda throwing sidney a banana from inside the boat and sidney missing it. then we watched the banana float away into the sun.
happy late summer!

Sidney on the run
hi friends,
this week i made an animation and compositing test. i'm still messing around with the colors, but as you may notice I'm taking a lot of influence from upa and hanna barbera layouts, and hopefully the wonderful mary blair .
more to come soon.

Sid The Killer Animatic
i have been taking a little break from the blogosphere to enjoy the summer sun, and try my hand at some freelance work, but recently the mayor of blake city and J&D attorney at law notified me that a post was long overdue, and they threatened legal action.
So,... I have been working on boards for a new short about my grandpa, and I would love to hear what you think! Comments, suggestions, opinions are all gratefully appreciated.

great show!!
hey everyone thanks for making the spring show a success! it was great to see some of the new york animation giants show up as well. fran krause, a superjail inmate, posts about it here.
i regret not being able to attend the dusty's, and i would really like to get together an impromptu inter school thesis screening, but this may be a tough task to coordinate. in any event, there is certainly a lot of new talent on this little island, indeed.

nuthin but love
This weekend I painted Dominique Wilkins at Luv's Barber shop. Luv says that Dominique was his idol growing up and that not enough young cats today know who he is. He also thinks that his brother Gerald was nice. I have never really painted a mural before so I took a cue from a talent named Matt Luckhurst.
My boy George came by on day 1 and helped me fill it out. He was trying to keep his mouth shut when some guys were talking trash about D McNabb.
